Flight (1-B)

“Fuck this I’m ghost,” you whispered under your breath. Your whole life suitors have come for your hand and you are sick of it. Especially after one of them got so upset he decided to attack your kingdom, but you did kind of instigate the whole thing. Now let’s make a plan to get out of the castle and never look back. Feel free to let me know what you have in mind; I’m still trying to figure that one out myself.

Let’s start with goodbyes while I put something together. You look over at your father and he can read your face clearly. “Very well my dear, I knew this day would one way come.” Wow, that was easy, next. You go down to the kitchen to say your goodbyes to Dalton; the head of the knights and Jim; the royal chef. Those two were like uncles to you and your dad’s closest friends. Dalton trained you with a sword since you were young and Jim has been teaching you all his secret recipes. Before you go Dalton hands you his sword and Jim his recipe book. Now to depart… So what I was thinking was that we walk out the back. What?! No one will expect it. Plus it was the best I could do on such short notice.

You make your way to the super secret back door of the castle. At the door is your father, he takes one last look at you and hands you a small box. “This was your mother’s, she told me to give it to you when you became a strong woman and said to open it up when the situation was dire.” He gave you his final hug and made his way to the castle gates to fend off the prince and his army. In that moment the castle walls shook with signs of battle. Guess it’s time to go. To the stables!

By the time you get a horse and clear the castle you see an overturned carriage on the road. Surrounding it bodes are laid around in flames. You see one knight gasp back to life and you dismount to try and help. Running over to him you take his hand and try to find out what had happened. “My lord,” the knight faintly spoke. “It took my lord; please you must find men to save him. We were returning from a nearby kingdom when we were…” his voice trailed off the gargling sound of blood in his throat was beginning to overwhelm him.

As he took a deep breath he struggled to continue. “Twas a giant beast, we never thought they were real… alas we were wrong.” “What now?” You murmured in confusion. “A dragon, a fucking dragon… I mean really. Sure we hear storied about them, but who really believes all that. But damn was that thing real, came from the caves to the north. You know in case you were maybe thinking of slaying it and saving my lord. I mean I don’t want to put any pressure on you, but it’d be real nice thing to do.” He batted his eyelashes you as he took his last breath in your arms. Right, no pressure huh?

So want to fight a dragon?

Yeah… no (2-C)

You had me at dragon (2-D)
