They sit around the campfire stoned, telling horror stories. It’s the one about the guy with the hook hand and the tale reaches the climax. One of them spoke with an eerie voice, “And then the campers looked behind them and saw the man ready TO STRIKE!” With that you jumped out from behind the bushes with a deafening roar… or growl… or whatever sounds you’re supposed to make as a bear. Immediately the campers shot up and darted off into the woods screaming for dear life. You probably picked a bad time to pop out, but they did leave their cooler. Grabbing a six pack, you walk away chuckling as you could still hear the campers screaming.
As you walk the screams grow feint and are slowly taken over by the sounds of the night forest. You now have your beer and make your way over to the RV for a chance to drive. Eventually you arrive and clear your throat to gracefully announce yourself. “Who dat out dere?” you hear bellow from inside. “My name is Ray sir and I come bearing gifts,” you mumble back. The humor in that line is obviously lost by the fact that he cannot get a bear pun until he knows that you are a bear, but you grin and bear it… double pun’d.
The window blinds shuffle as you see someone looking out. A gasp is heard, but to ease the situation you hold up the six pack and smile. “What, you trying to trick me to come out so you can eat me are ya?” the voice yelled out again. “No sir, I simply live in the forest as well and wanted to extend my greeting to a neighbor.” Almost immediately the front door on the RV shot open. An older man with a few teeth stepped out laughing; which caused a whistle from the spaces between his teeth. “Well why didn’t ya say so?” he said with a smile. Walking over he grabbed your hand and shook it vigorously. “I don’t get too many friendly faces around these parts.” He reached back in the RV and pulled out two lawn chairs prompting you to sit down. But now that you meet the guy you don’t know if you’ll ever get to drive his RV and you don’t even know why you got the idea in the first place.
So you can stick with the plan or try something else.
Stick to it, like an adhesive (4-E)
Short attention span choice: Bear, drive NOW! (4-F)
